Shawnda Prestage, RDA
Registered Dental Assistant
I’ve been a dental assistant for over 30 years, with 26 of those spent right here alongside Dr. Dao. Over the years, I’ve learned that skill matters—but compassion matters just as much. I love helping patients feel at ease with a gentle approach and attention to detail, and it means a lot to know I’m making a positive difference in their dental health. Outside of the office, I enjoy spending time with my family and diving into craft projects—it’s my favorite way to unwind and stay creative.
Alison Davis, RDH
Dental Hygienist
I’ve been a dental hygienist for 21 years, but my journey started even earlier—right here in this office in 1998, where I first assisted in the hygiene department as a high school student. After earning my dental hygiene degree, an opportunity came available to return to work with Dr. Dao in 2008. I truly love what I do here and enjoy getting to know each patient on a personal level—turning patients into friends is one of the best parts of my job. Outside of work, I’ve been married for almost 18 years, and we have two amazing kids plus two four-legged family members, Bell and Bugs. Most of my free time is spent cheering my kids on at water polo games or at the baseball field. I also love to read and work out – it’s my way of recharging so I can bring my best to both my family and my patients.
McKenzie Singleton, RDH
Dental Hygienist
I’ve been in dentistry for over nine years, and my journey began right here at Dr. Dao’s front desk in 2013 verifying insurance. After earning my Bachelor of Science from the University of Houston, I continued on to earn a dental hygiene degree. Shortly after graduating, the opportunity arrived for me to return to work with Dr. Dao and I began working as a dental hygienist in this office in 2020. I’m passionate about preventive care and truly enjoy building relationships with patients, helping them feel confident in their smiles and at ease in my chair. Outside of work, I stay busy running marathons, spending time with my husband and two children, and staying active in my church and community. Supporting others—whether through dental care or everyday life—is something I genuinely value.
Mariela Jessica Flores, RDH
Dental Hygienist
I joined Dr. Dao’s office as a dental hygienist in 2021 after graduating from Lamar Institute of Technology with an Associate’s degree in Dental Hygiene. From the very beginning, I knew this was the perfect place to grow—thanks to our amazing patients and the supportive team around me. I truly enjoy building lasting relationships and treating every patient with the same care I’d give my own family. My goal is to make each visit comfortable, encouraging, and positive while helping you achieve and maintain a healthy, confident smile. Being part of your oral health journey is something I take to heart, and I feel grateful every day to do what I love.
Laura Salas
Treatment Coordinator
As Dr. Dao’s treatment coordinator since 2020, my goal is to help every patient feel comfortable, informed, and confident about their dental care. I truly enjoy connecting with people and guiding them through their recommended treatment plans in a way that feels clear and supportive to their oral health goals. Creating a positive experience for each person who walks through our doors is something I care deeply about. Outside of the office, I love working out, going for runs, and spending quality time with my two daughters—they keep life fun and full of energy.

Hygiene Coordinator
My journey into 28 years of dentistry first began as a dental assistant in Dr Dao’s office in 1996. As the practice grew, I transitioned to the front office team, where you will still find me today helping people feel informed and comfortable throughout their visit—it’s one of the most rewarding parts of what I do. Outside of work, I’m a proud mom of three, and I find joy in baking something sweet in the kitchen or cheering on my Oklahoma Sooners. Whether I’m at the office or at home, creating a warm, positive experience for others is always close to my heart.
Kylee Hilburn
Insurance Verification
I began working as our office insurance coordinator in 2024, with my main focus on making the insurance verification process as simple and stress-free as possible for our patients. Each week, I verify close to 100 different insurance plans to help ensure everything runs smoothly behind the scenes. I really enjoy being part of a team that cares deeply about the families we serve. Outside of work, I spend most of my time with family and friends—and lately, I’ve started to explore new places and discover a love for travel.

Billing Support
Family means everything to me. After stepping away for a few years from our office to spend time caring for my parents, I’m grateful to be back with a team I’ve known and loved for over 15 years. My background in dental care runs deep, and I always try to bring warmth and thoughtfulness to the work I do each day. Outside of the office, I love spending time on the water—whether it’s a peaceful morning of fishing or heading out on a cruise with family. I’m a proud grandmother, creating some of my favorite moments in life with them!
